Data regulation

While there is no doubt today about the importance of “data” in our society, and its economic side, France adopted very early on legislation protecting “personal data”. Today, with the advent of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have changed paradigm. Data processing is standardised and the free flow of data is to be encouraged.

How does the current legislation frame these processing possibilities?

Security and data sharing

Data (GDPR) and AI (AI Act) regulations mean new rights for citizens and duties for the companies with which they share this data.
For companies, these regulations mean compliance requirements and technological and human efforts.
Much more than just requirements, these are multiple opportunities for value creation and innovation on the basis of a sustainable foundation of trust: decompartmentalisation of data, creation of an ecosystem of data and Artificial Intelligence across industrial value chains, etc.

First, we will summarise the regulations, the ethical aspects (i.e., data management) and the responsible approaches to data (i.e., CSR).
We will then present case studies of applications that can be used to find pockets of value and the key ingredients for success (technological, organisational and human).
